The Best Songs of March 2025 // New Music Friday!

"Younger And Hotter Than Me" by Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco released their incredible collaboration album this month and it is undoubtedly one of the very best albums of the year so far. Every single song is so perfect, I love the way they share this really heartfelt and intimate glimpse into their lives and the journey they took to get where they are now. I am so in awe of this album and how strong the artistic chemistry is between Selena and Benny. The second track, "Younger And Hotter Than Me" is one of my personal favorites, its truly one of the best songs either of them ever made. Selena opens up in such a deeply personal way about the pressures of comparison and insecurity as a woman in the entertainment industry. The music video is also so beautiful and meaningful as well, I love the way they brought all of those emotions to life in such a symbolic way.

"Garden Of Eden" by Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is a true mastermind of crafting perfect pop songs, which she has showcased time and time again throughout her career. The first four tracks of Mayhem in particular are among the greatest runs of her entire career. "Garden of Eden" is especially an all-time career highlight, there were so many times I was so blown away while listening to this album for the first time and this is a prime example of why. Mayhem is truly Gaga at her core. These are her roots as an artist, and she delivers them with the kind of precision and authenticity that can only come from years of mastery.

"Relationships" by Haim
"Relationships" is the lead single off of Haim's upcoming album, which is yet to be officially announced, but if its anything like this, then I know its set to be one of the best releases of the year! It serves as the perfect follow up to their 2020 album Women In Music Pt. III and feels very connected sonically and thematically to that record. It's also so addicting to listen to, it truly is the perfect song for Spring, and I can't get enough of it.
"Hampstead" by Ariana Grande
Brighter days are finally here and it's all because of Ariana! ☀ She released her long-awaited deluxe version of her 2024 album eternal sunshine, featuring six brand new songs. Each song only further enhances the beauty of the original album and brings so much closure to those songs and the time of her life they represent. The final track, "Hampstead" is such a gorgeous moment of the album, one that is unflinchingly honest and vulnerable. I was in tears listening to it for the first time, there is so much depth and meaning behind every single lyric. Alongside the six new songs, Ariana also released a short film, which also marked her directorial debut as well. The Brighter Days Ahead short film is truly one of the greatest things Ariana has ever made, which I don't say lightly. It is such a beautiful way to close this chapter of her life.

"Physical (Remix)" by Dua Lipa & Troye Sivan
A collab between Dua and Troye has been long overdue and it couldn't have come at a better time! To celebrate the five-year anniversary of Dua's incredible sophomore album Future Nostalgia, they teamed up on a new remixed version of one of the biggest highlights from that record, "Physical". That song is so electric and truly one of the greatest in her entire discography. It's a true masterpiece, one that perfectly embodies the theme of the album and its nonstop infectious energy. It's so hard to believe that it's already been five years since that album was released, it truly is one of the greatest of all time and served as the soundtrack to so much of my life in the years since. This remix is a great addition to it and a perfect celebration of Future Nostalgia's lasting legacy!

"Bullseye" by Lucy Dacus & Hozier
I was so struck by the pure beauty and sincerity that runs throughout the entirety of Lucy Dacus' new album, Forever Is A Feeling. There are so many songs I wanted to include, but for the sake of this list, I went with one of my personal favorites since I first listened to it, "Bullseye" featuring Hozier. Their voices pair so beautifully together on this intimate and heartfelt track.
"People (Live From The AO Arena, Manchester, 17.02.24) by The 1975
The 1975 surprise released a new live album earlier this month, recorded in their hometown of Manchester last year. I had the most incredible experience seeing them live in 2023 on their Still...At Their Very Best Tour in New York City, so listening to this album really brought me right back to those amazing moments. It actually made me emotional at times to listen to it, just because of how much their music means to me and how it has been such a big part of my life for so long. I can't wait for them to hopefully be back with new music soon, but until then, this album is a really beautiful celebration of that amazing tour and their two decades of making music together. I wanted to highlight the final song of the set, titled "People", which is simply the most wild and electric song I have ever experienced live in my life. I recommend checking out videos of them performing this online, you need to see it to believe it! The energy is so insane!
"DOA" by St. Vincent
St. Vincent recently released a captivating new song called "DOA", which is a part of the film soundtrack for Death of a Unicorn. It's haunting and surrealistic, with absolutely insane production that blends the plot of the film with her signature sound.
"Stained" by Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco
Although I typically only include one song per artist on my New Music Friday posts, I can't resist adding another from Selena and Benny's new album because of the very special story it has behind it. The official release of "Stained" has been a very long time coming and I'm so happy the full version is finally out in the world. Selena first teased it on Snapchat in 2016 and it leaked in 2017. It quickly became a fan-favorite track despite never having an official release until now. It's just as amazing as I always hoped it would be, it was absolutely worth the wait!
"If Only I Could Wait" by Bon Iver & Danielle Haim
This is a stunning new collaboration between Bon Iver and Danielle Haim, which is set to be apart of Bon Iver's upcoming album SABLE fABLE. It's a beautiful and emotionally poignant duet that explores the heavy feeling of trying to hold onto something that feels so uncertain.
"The Giver" by Chappell Roan
"The Giver" is Chappell's first new release in about a year, which is a really catchy country anthem that simultaneously honors her queer identity and Midwestern roots. She debuted it about six months ago when she was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live in a really fun and memorable performance! I'm looking forward to seeing where she continues to go from here and if this is the direction she will continue to go in on her eventual sophomore album.
"Anxiety" by Doechii
This is a powerful song that details Doechii's struggles of living with anxiety in a way that is very personal to her own experiences but carries a very universal sentiment at the same time. It samples Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know", which is a major undertaking to incorporate a song that is as classic and recognizable as that is, but Doechii put a really cool twist on it. Although it was only officially released earlier this month, it was actually recorded years ago and has been viral for quite a while.
"Handlebars" by JENNIE & Dua Lipa
Jennie, of BLACKPINK, released her debut solo album this month and one of the standouts from it is her collaboration with Dua Lipa. "Handlebars" is a cool blend of pop and R&B influences, which allows both of them to really shine as vocalists and showcases their artistic chemistry.
"If You Hadn't Been There" by Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton released a beautiful and emotional ballad dedicated to her late husband, Carl, who passed away this month at the age of 82. She wrote and released this song four days later, which serves as a reflection on the deep love they shared and the impact he made on her during their 58-year marriage. It is a beautiful ode to their lifetime of love. ♡
"Rhythm of Love" by Frankie Grande
Frankie Grande has finally released his debut single, which is such a fun and vibrant song that radiates his incredible talent, infectious personality, and unwavering positivity. I got the chance to meet him and see him perform live way back in 2018 and have been looking forward to hearing him step into music in this way ever since. Obviously, talent runs in the family and I'm so happy to hear he's finally releasing original music now! His debut album is set to be released soon, although no date has been officially announced yet.
"HOTBOX" by Lil Nas X
"HOTBOX" is such an irresistibly fun and catchy track that is a major highlight off of Lil Nas X's latest EP. The production is the best part, it feels very reminiscent of Pharrell's signature sound and elevates the song to a new level.
"Waiting On A Wish" by Rachel Zegler
Apparently this isn't a popular opinion, but I really loved the new Snow White film and absolutely believe it is one of the best live action films Disney has ever made. In addition to some of the ways they modernized this classic story, there were also several new song added throughout, most of which were performed by the very talented Rachel Zegler. "Waiting On A Wish" in particular is a very special part of the film that enhances the story immensely.
"Still Gonna Love You" by Gwen Stefani
"Still Gonna Love You" was featured on Gwen's new deluxe edition of her 2024 album Bouquet, which is truly one of the best songs she has released in years. Vocally and lyrically, this song is so gorgeous in every way. She collaborated with Finneas for the first time on this song, they created such a heartfelt and beautiful addition to her album.
"Bed Rest" by Conan Gray
To celebrate the five-year anniversary of his debut album Kid Krow, Conan released an expanded version of the album with alternate mixes of some of the classic songs, as well as previously unreleased tracks from that time. "Bed Rest" is a beautiful addition that perfectly captures the spirit of the original album. The production is so captivating and really showcases Conan's strengths as an artist. It's hard to believe its been five years already since this album was released, Kid Krow was on repeat all throughout 2020 and served as the soundtrack to so much of that time in my life.
"Nothing" // Niall Horan
It's hard to believe that it has also been five years since the release of Niall's sophomore solo record, Heartbreak Weather. Alongside the album anniversary, Niall released several new live and acoustic versions, as well as two previously unreleased songs. "Nothing" is my favorite of the two, the instrumentation is so bold and dynamic, which pairs beautifully with the delicate, heartfelt lyrics.
"Hole In A Frame" by Samia
Samia's latest release offers such a haunting and beautiful performance, one that captures a sense of quiet introspection and emotional depth.
"Lucy" by Claire Rosinkranz
I've been anticipating the release of "Lucy" for several months ever since Claire first posted clips of it on TikTok in late 2024. The wait was absolutely worth it. Now that the full song is finally here, I can't get the chorus out of my head!
