FLOWER BEAUTY CONCEALER REVIEW

To start off, the biggest issue I have with this product is that there's only 6 shades. Brands with a non-inclusive shade range is definitely a huge issue in the makeup industry and I really hope Flower expands their shade range, as well as many other brands with the same issue. I have a very fair skin tone and  the lightest concealer shade in the Light Illusion range is too dark for me. The darkest shade also won't be dark enough for a lot of skin tones. Both ends of the spectrum of shades needs to be expanded. All of the shades in the range seem to lean more on the warmer side, so if you have cool or neutral-toned skin (like I do) then you won't be able to find an exact match - which is a shame because I actually really love the formula.

It has a beautiful natural dewy finish to it, while also being full coverage and covering up blemishes. I personally use concealer all over my face to substitute as a foundation and it gives my face such a nice natural shine. My skin (especially around my eye area) is very dry and I don't notice it accentuating any visible patches of dry skin. 

Since it is such a creamy and dewy formula, you have to set it with powder to minimize creasing and transfer and maximize wear time. If I don't set it, then I notice my mascara is more likely to smudge all under my eyes. I personally use the Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder and it fixes all of those problems. Right now it's so hot and humid outside - which means basically all of my makeup wears of quicker than it normally would - but setting this concealer with powder can make it last a little bit longer. On a regular day I get around 6-8 hours out of this concealer, which is on average how long I wear makeup anyway.

Overall, I would recommend purchasing this concealer if you have dry skin - I don't think it would be suitable for you if you have oily skin, unless you prefer a dewy finish for your concealer.

    I agree that the beauty industry definitely needs to become more inclusive with their shades. But this sounds like it'd be a great concealer for me during the winter when my skin gets dry! Thanks for the review!

    It's a bummer when there are limited amounts of shades available, especially when there's a shade that doesn't blend well. Hopefully Flower Beauty will come out with more shade as it grows! 6-8 hours is really good, and perfect if you only need it for that long anyways. Thanks for sharing!

SAFIYA NYGAARD x COLOURPOP COLLECTION REVIEW 🦇♥

For my first post of  the new year, I wanted to share my thoughts on one of my favorite makeup releases, the Safiya Nygaard x Colourpop collection ! Safiya is one of my favorite YouTubers and Colourpop is my favorite makeup brand, so this is a really exciting collaboration!  Safiya consistently makes a variety of really high quality and interesting videos that mainly focus on beauty and fashion. I admire how much time and research she puts into what she does, all of the work that is put into these videos really shows in the finished product. If you haven't watched her channel before, I really can't recommend it enough!  In August 2017, she started a series called " bad makeup science ", which is the basis of this new Colourpop lipstick collection. Happy Record Store Day! One of my most anticipated releases for the Black Friday drop this year was a special version of Billie Eilish 's incredible album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT , which features only her isolated vocals. You can only slightly hear parts of the instrumentals in the background because she recorded the songs without headphones, but this variant of the album puts a major emphasis on only her gorgeous vocals. It's a really cool concept, it almost sounds like you're in the studio with her hearing it recorded live.  There is so much depth to her vocal comps with all of the hidden vocals and ad libs that are hidden underneath the production. My Thoughts on the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline Collection

I was really excited when I initially heard that Gigi and Maybelline collaborated on a full collection. I assumed that I would be able to recreate Gigi's makeup looks for less, but that just isn't the case. Billie Eilish's sophomore release is finally here and I'm happier than ever about it! In some ways, the album is quite a departure from her debut, but in the best way possible.
